    Impressive work. I’m so envious!
Are the last two photos of a Cape Falcon paddle you built?
What wood did you use? Having of a problem finding the right lumber, even though I’m in Ontario, Canada

    Hello Graham
Thank you- just get to it, it is a lot of fun, and a big challenge.
I would not worry to much about the wood, just find some wood that comes close to the qualities you need. And it will proably work fine.
Yes it is a Cape falcon paddle. I found som old ceder wood poles, and when I cut them up the wood was fine.
I used partly a block plane and a router to shape the paddle. the router has the advantage that you can use nails to put thin hardwood edges on the blade.
    All the best
